Long, fun weekend

* I got to see my niece this weekend. She is too cute! I love her, and I love when I get to see her.

* I also got to spend time with my sister and my new brother-in-law. That was fun, also.

* Jorge did an awesome job on the yard on Friday. It looks so nice and clean outside. Our summer project is to finish the fence, and do some landscaping outside.

* If you haven't seen the Spiderwick Chronicles, I suggest you see it. It's great!

Libraries

I love libraries. I love books, I love reading, I absolutely love special collections. I do not love how libraries have become places for teenagers to check their My Space. Nor do I love how my local library has movies playing in the Children's area. When I was a kid there were storytellers, reading contests, new arrivals, and theme days. Now, look what it's become. I know they want to attract younger people to their facility, but there has to be a way to incorporate the technology related stuff - to the book stuff. I'm off to read my book.

Dogs behaving badly

For almost two weeks now, Jorge and I have been petsitting Winston, my sister's dog. We take him out, on a leash, in our yard, to do his business. What bothers me, is the dogs across the street start barking like crazy, like we're on their property! Hello, we live here, you live there. The reason is probably because their owners let them loose to do their business, and for some reason they've been doing it on our property. Jorge caught one of the little buggers the other day.

I would never let my dog do that. Hmph.

It seems to me...

* Some people were not meant to be Curriculum writers. There is a lot of planning and detail involved. I'm not talking about myself, I'm almost done with my project. I love this stuff too. I might consider getting my master's in Curriculum and Instruction. One of my co-workers on the other hand...

* If you saw the picture Jorge test published, you might notice that the van owner wants to trade his vehicle for something smaller. Jorge's suggested headline for the picture was: "Effect of rising gas-prices" or something news-worthy like that. Mine is, "Does the smaller car have to work?"

* I have an urge to ride the spinning teacups at Disney World. I think that would be a lot of fun.

* I also have a desire to go to Schlitterbahn Beach this weekend. It's so hot, and I could use a nice, cool, trip.

* My Gweenie is still gone. I miss her so much. I keep remembering what a sweetheart she was. I would never have imagined something so horrible happening to her. It was a nightmare that day.

* Yes, I'm blogging at work. I'm waiting on my two helpers to finish their tests, so I can take the final product to publishing. I'm a fast worker. I get what I need to get done, done.

* My craft projects are almost complete. I love having a craft desk. I only got a tiny little burn from the glue gun last night.

* Winston got his shower yesterday. He kept drinking the water out of the hose. He smells like a sleepy baby now.

* I miss my niece. I want to hug her, kiss her cheeks, and read her some books.

Test publish

Just in case you can't make out what it says on the left back window on this van, it says "Cambio por carro chico." Meaning, "Will trade for smaller car." Nellie and I just thought it was a bit interesting...

This is a test publishing post from my Sidekick LX. I was just checking if I could post via email from my phone and attaching images. Seems like it works, sweet!

Challenges for the week:

1. Get Winston to stop jumping like a crazed puppy when people come over, or he sees people at a park.

2. Organize our back office and guest room.

3. Finish my craft project.

4. Finish my Curriculum project.

5. Clean the house, like it desperately needs.

6. Wrap up Genifer's present and send it with Jorge's mom to her graduation from Elementary on Thursday.

7. Convince Jorge that the beach is our friend. :)

Almost married 4 months!

So, on July 8, we'll have been married four whole months, a 1/3 of a year! It seems like much longer. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just we've been through a lot of ups and downs. The best part is that we've been through all of that together, and we just love each other more and more every day. We're working on cohabitating. We have very different opinions on what to do with our personal belongings.

Right now our challenge is planning our vacation/honeymoon to Disney World. Hopefully we'll get to go in August. I've come across some great deals, that I'll post later.

Jorge and I have decided that we're going to take turns updating this. We'll post updates and pictures.

Until next time...
